What a remarkable time to be alive. Every day is a swirl of emotions — from fear to elation. The resistance faces an unprecedented foe. And yet we grower stronger, faster, and wiser with each passing moment. Here are my thinking points from the last few days:
The authoritarian educational institutions, health care systems, and employers have done us a favor by liberating all of the ethical, talented critical thinkers who value freedom and humanity. This will cause the collapse of Establishment organizations while we erect thriving parallel educational, health care, and business services.
Exactly. I failed to mention Big Tech, but they are obviously leading the charge in self-destruction as serving their paymasters and enforcing censorship are more important to them than supporting their customers.
I'm frankly amazed at the willingness of these corporations to commit mass suicide. It's almost as if they are being propped up with cash and/or threatened to slit their own wrists. They are certainly not respecting their fiduciary responsibility to their stockholders anymore (see Twitter stock over last few months for example).
I know of many young air traffic controllers working for the FAA anxiously awaiting approval of their filed religious exemptions to avoid shots. I believe they’re in for big disappointment, and many will ultimately cave, as designed. Hope I’m wrong. All systems and institutions heading south at breakneck speed. They sure plotted this effectively.
I am a grandma, who drank from the garden hose and played in the dirt. We all knew we would get the childhood diseases in the 1950s when the Health Dept. posted a quarantine sign on your front screen door if a child was sick. Other parents could send their kids over to get Measles, Mumps or whatever to "get it over with" or choose to stay away. My siblings sometimes got sick and I usually did not get very sick if at all, who knows why. I have not had the flu since 1968, so have no need for what Medicare offers me in an annual flu jab, a shingles jab and three or more experimental TXs with secret ingredients. We were taught that the Creator and Mom knew best. Yes, let's build a new medical and educational system on individual liberty and informed choice.
Exactly. And sheesh, it was BICYCLES without a helmet, let alone motorcycles. With a playing card clipped to the frame with a real clothes pin to make that cool motor sound. But now, we're hard to kill. Personally, I think eating a spoon full of dirt every day would do everybody some good.
and if someone had already screwed the end of the hose onto a sprinkler, it wasn't that hard to pick up the sprinkler and drink from that ~ added bonus of getting your T-shirt and shorts and sneakers wet, too ~ felt so good!

We literally have to be Too Tough to Kill…. in order to survive in today’s world. I have a daughter that just got married and wants to start a family. I try to hide my fears and be strong but it’s hard when all dots have connected and you see everything differently forever.
My daughter was questioned by her employer about why she didn't want to vax. Her answer: "Because I've already had COVID, and I want to have kids someday." This wanna-be grandma is most pleased!
I had a most peculiar discussion with my parents a while back. I'm 48. They were sorting out their multitude of pills into their respective pill box days. My father asked what pills I took. I said I dont take anything, I'm perfectly fine. He then said "well you should get tested, there could be something wrong with you that you dont know about." I cannot even begin to cover all the things wrong with this attitude. But I guess this is normal thinking these days?
My buddy got his booster last week at the begging of his wife even though he says he believes me about the harms etc, (wife trumps friend!)...he got covid yesterday...
I'm only a few years older than you and my parents are similar. For whatever reason, I think that generation was much more trusting about "expert" opinion. My mom is on all sorts of meds that I think are degrading her quality of life. A great example is that they put her on statins. I've posted about this before, but if you actually look at the data on statins, it says that when you're taking statins, you have a slightly reduced chance of dying of heart disease, but you have a greater chance of dying. In other words, all-cause mortality increases. Further, statin studies show no impact of statins of heart disease death rate for women, really just men (and they aren't sure why). But there are all sorts of side effects that happen with statins. So, here's my mom taking these pills for probably the rest of her life that aren't going to do her any good in any case. I've had the conversation with her, but she persists because "the doctor said so."
That's a true observation from my point of view as well. My mother is on all manner of drugs. When I asked her what, she said she didn't know what most of them were. They were just what the doctor prescribed.
Low Level Warrior here (I am beginning think of myself as a "Reluctant Activist") ... starting small -
Upon seeing that Nike sent a letter to fire all unvaxxxed workers ... I spent 5 mins online chatting at nike . com about a "product question" - they were eager to help. I let them know I (and my large, sporting family) would be boycotting all Nike products going forward. I started by asking for a form to express myself to corporate leaders and then had a brief, pleasant (from my point of view, not sure how "Carmen" felt about it:-) interaction about medical freedom, healthy, personal responsibility and personal choice and how their (Nike) public stance would hurt their brand. It's only one person, one interaction - but maybe it can spread.
This small action is not quite a sit-in at a segregated lunch counter in segregation south ... but something for the fight we find ourselves that is free, quick and even a bit "fun" as in peacefully subversive for a good, important cause !!!

Thanks - you and so many others offer mental and emotional sustenance ... it can feel lonely sometimes but know that what you do by bravely communicating is important to so many ... and inspiring (I'm just a normie trying to live a life ... suddenly I'm a "Reluctant Activist":-)
As to this specific low level, guerilla tactic (my little Nike chat support interaction) ... after it played out and I reflected on how simple and enjoyable the experience was ... further insight/inspiration:
A seed of an idea was born - and I actually went ahead and bought a web domain loosely based around the idea of inspiring others (and being inspired by others) to engage in these low level, everyday, person to person ways.
It's a mish mash of ideas in my head right now ...
*use modern day tech (chat based engagement)
*simple low level (anyone can do it)
*everyday People Power (quickly can scale up)
*peacefully subversive a la civil disobedience (non-violent guerilla tactics)
*goes after soft spots (companies thinking about brand and profits)
If I build it, will they come ... also, do I have the brains, skill, stamina to build it ... or the wherewithal to gather support and help make it happen !?!
i may sound like Trump here, but if you don't test the pandemic goes away. my brother in NY recently was feeling bad. he woke up early, bundled up to get to the test center in the cold 15 min before it opened; there were already 30 people on line. he waited 3 hours to learn that he had covid and then went home. what was the point? could standing on line with 30 other possibly sick people be the next super spreader event?
You should see the lines for the booster in Canada. Went for 3 blocks at a town near me. Which reminds me - I looked at that video you mentioned (about a stolen radio or some shit like that) and wish I hadn't as it was preceded by an ad from the province of Ontario directing me to get my booster. The only booster dose I will be getting tonight is a couple of shots of Jamesons on the rocks. So...fire American healthcare workers that either already have immunity or have healthcare exemptions or reservations against a vaccine that doesn't prevent illness nor transmission of illness. Encourage healthcare workers actively sick with the infection to continue working Then import employees from another country.
gawdammid the only test that really matters is ANTIBODY assay. A proper structured study (what would the sample size be?) would tell us all we need to know about the population at large wouldn't it? these millions of antigen tests are just bovine excrement or political theater (but i repeat myself).
