Why would anyone want even more concentrated power? It may be that there are sufficient numbers of the powerful/influential/wealthy folks who value their own self interest above that of humanity. So even if a statements such as "nationalism is a problem" contains some truth, there are those who will spin that for their own advantage and compound the underlying problem by further centralizing the power on themselves. The same with the idea of unity which should inspire universal love or compassion but may be spun by powerful folks with selfish interests to create a global power structure or government that features themselves as its leaders (either publicly known or from behind the scenes) with no accountability to the public or will of the people.

Roland, I say this with all due respect, Toby runs one of the best and most informative Substacks, let's not lower it's caliber when disagreeing with each other by insulting the commentator. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, perhaps you can rephrase your disagreement. That being said, I fully agree Bobby "could've" won it all, but in my personal opinion he has made some catastrophic mistakes. It's one thing to support Israel (unfortunately they control everythng) but a whole other to say the Palestinians are the most pampered people in the world in addition to then adding they have no right to defend themselves.
He's always said he would change his stance on anything if the evidence proved him wrong. However in this particular case the experts came out of the woodwork to correct his misconceptions and instead of reconsidering his stance, he actually doubled down and dug the hole even deeper when he said they have no right to defend themselves. His stance on Israel IMHO is now even worse than Biden and Trump . . . . combined!
The irony of all of this is all three candidates are carrying huge albatrosses - Bidens age and mental health - Trumps unyielding support for the vaccines and Bobby's stance on Israel. So I guess it's now anyone's race to lose.
I have concerns about RFK Jr.
1. His recent abject prostration before the genocidal Zionists (when earlier he had been saying or hinting that Mossad killed his Uncle/Father)

Nick I agree with you. It's sad how you almost have to play the game when running for office. But I truly believe this was the year/election when standing up and refusing to be part of it would be like gold in the bank and catapult you into office. He had it all and then, little by little, he began to drift.

A huge disappointment to me was hearing that Finland joined NATO a year or more ago.
