My son (28) was born with Down Syndrome (he's very bright and physically fit, can speak well, write and read, and likes classical music, sailing and skiing). He also has Diabetes T1, and Autism.

I'm honestly not sure where the Autism fits in to this complex spectrum, but there are much higher rates of Autism in people with DS than without.

It would be easy if vaccination was the single smoking gun here, but my professional gob is smacked - I'd love to think it was that simple, but all my public health instincts are looking for something more complex, and probably pre-natal. Something about the immune system and created right at conception or even before in sperm or egg malformation. The code!

If it was vaccination, surely that would have been evident ages ago? We simply have to do a lot more work: but HIGH FIVE to you and your colleagues for doing your best.
