There is a method to my madness:
speaking common sense truths daily in order to break the grip of Pharma totalitarianism
I post too much on social media. But I’m actually trying to do something very specific. So I thought I’d take a moment to explain my strategy.
I’m a huge fan of Power: A Radical View by British sociologist Steven Lukes (published in 1974). He argues that power operates on three levels:
The first level of power is the contest of ideas between different groups that are attempting to maximize their interests. This is called the pluralist view of power and the champions of this view were Dahl (1961), Polsby (1963), and Wolfinger (1971).
But Peter Bachrach and Morton Baratz in an article in American Political Science Review in 1962 (and a book in 1970) argued that power is the ability to control the agenda and the ability to keep issues off the table. Lukes’ calls this the second level of power. So for example, the U.S. Congress almost never debates royalty rates for oil exploration on public lands because oil companies have enough political power that they can keep that issue off the legislative agenda.
But then Lukes goes one step further to develop what he calls a three-dimensional view of power. Echoing Gramsci’s (1971) views on the construction of hegemony and Fanon’s (1963) views on internal colonization, Lukes argues that real power is the ability to influence the interests, preferences, and ideation (the idea creation process itself) of disadvantaged groups.
I discuss all of this in my thesis starting on page 63.
The dissidents fighting to overthrow Soviet totalitarianism understood these different levels of power first-hand. In an underground pamphlet published in 1978 titled, The Power of the Powerless, Czech playwright Václav Havel noted that totalitarianism depends on the active participation of the citizenry. Withdraw your participation from the daily lies of the regime and it will crumble. Havel believed that the key to overcoming totalitarianism is to speak common sense truths out loud every day. Totalitarianism is brittle, humorless, and cannot handle even a mild critique. Logic, reason, and rationality, stated plainly and openly, drive the regime crazy and will cause it to unravel. And in the end, Havel was right. A generation of dissidents produced samizdat texts and spoke common sense truths out loud in direct defiance of the totalitarian system and this led to the downfall of the Soviet Union. Havel was elected President of the Czech Republic in 1993 and served 10 years.
So what does all of this have to do with the movement for medical freedom (aka the movement for personal sovereignty)?
Pharma’s power is extraordinary. They have virtually unlimited sums of money to spend on lobbying and PR. They have bought up the entire knowledge production process in science and medicine. They control most of the venues in society for expressing ideas. They keep any issue that hurts their profits off the public agenda. Pharma has the sort of totalizing power and reach that Joseph Goebbels could only dream about.
But perhaps what troubles me the most about Pharma’s reach is the way that they have colonized the minds of ordinary Americans and even medical freedom activists. When you hear someone start a sentence with “I’m not an anti-vaxxer but…” they are genuflecting to Pharma’s power and showing that they fear being excluded from polite society. That’s Lukes’ third level of power — Pharma is shaping the ideas in that person’s head and the words that come out of that person’s mouth. And if you believe Foucault, then words shape ideas, so if Pharma can force someone to say a lie, they will come to believe the lie. I also object to the very notion of “exemptions” from “vaccine schedules” because exemptions do not go far enough. From all of the data that we have, vaccine schedules are a crime against humanity and should be banned entirely. But Pharma’s power is so great that we are left begging for crumbs from the table and limited exemptions from the genocide.
So what I’m trying to do in all of my social media posts (and what I encourage you to do in your daily life if you are not doing so already) is to speak simple common sense truths out loud in order to break Pharma’s mental colonization of our minds and thus break Pharma’s totalitarian hold on society. So I point out when Fauci is lying, I share the actual data, and I describe plainly what I see happening and why I think it is wrong. I use humor and mockery to show that bourgeois’ acquiescence to Pharma is contemptible (but I generally avoid sarcasm because too often people miss the meaning). I fight to eliminate “vaccine schedules” altogether because they are not supported by science and are a crime against humanity. I regularly use the word genocide to describe what is happening because that’s exactly is what it is. And I do not care about offending anyone because I’m trying to stop Pharma totalitarianism and set people free — so there is necessarily going to be some discomfort as people wake up.
Here are some of my recent posts:
This series, where I compared health outcomes exactly one year apart (post and pre- vaccine campaign) drove Pharma absolutely nuts. Nothing fancy, just the facts, but Pharma totalitarianism is brittle and cannot handle this very straightforward data:
This post is really simple but it generated a huge response (almost 4k likes and over 15k views).
Lots of times I just give voice to my frustrations and find that others are having a similar experience and so it resonates with them as well.
In response to these very straightforward critiques, in the last year I’ve gotten hit by the Washington Post, Reuters, Nature, 5280 Magazine, and Vice; banned by Twitter; suspended 3 times by Facebook; and my posts are tracked by the Pharma Stasi groups (Project VCTR, the Center for Digital Hate, etc.). But that proves my point. The system we are fighting against is totalizing and unable to have any honest debate about the evidence. The audience for the truth is massive and grows larger every day. And in the end the truth will win out, it always does.
Thank you for all your thoughtful posts. I'm so glad to have found you and your truths. Thank you for helping to wake up those still asleep to this genocide!!!
Thank you for your efforts. You have motivated me to speak more truths, and I hope the truth will set us free.
