Reading this article felt like hearing someone describe plans to create a Jurassic Park. I suppose ya could but everyone knows that this does not end well.
What Can Replace Free Markets? Groups Pledge $41 Million to Find Out.
Two foundations committed funding for economic and policy research focused on alternatives to traditional economic thinking.
Let’s walk through the facts and then I’ll explain why I think that this is a bad idea.
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and Omidyar Network announced on Wednesday that they were committing more than $41 million to economic and policy research focused on alternatives [to neoliberal economics].
“Neoliberalism is dead, but we haven’t developed a replacement,” said Larry Kramer, president of the Hewlett Foundation.
The initial recipients of grants to set up research programs are Harvard University’s Kennedy School, Howard University, Johns Hopkins University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Santa Fe Institute.
The Ford Foundation and the Open Society Foundations have pledged to join the initiative and make grants later this year for research centers abroad, Mr. Kramer said.
It is true that we desperately need alternatives to neoliberal economics — something I have pointed out repeatedly on my Substack. But these are not the proper institutions to foster these new ideas.
The world right now is run by technocrats — the World Economic Forum, Davos, the Gates Foundation, W.H.O., and Greens/Democrats/Liberal/Labor Parties all operate from the belief that a ruling class of highly educated elites is entitled to govern because they will make the best decisions. And they have made a total mess of things. The world is now beset with skyrocketing inequality; corruption and capture; political polarization; chronic illness, pandemics, and death; and a move by all developed economies to emulate China with digital surveillance, censorship, and totalitarian state control. All of these horrible outcomes are a direct result of the technocrats taking power and not understanding either political philosophy nor the needs/interests of citizens.
What we will get from this new $41 million project is Das Kapital for Technocrats. And we already see hints of this in the descriptions of how these institutions will approach the research question. For example:
The M.I.T. project will research the challenges faced by workers without four-year college degrees — nearly two-thirds of the nation’s work force — and steps that could improve their jobs or lift them into higher-paying occupations.
The M.I.T. group will also explore policies and incentives to steer technological development in ways that enhance the productivity of workers instead of replace them.
Okay so MIT is going to get $8 million to recommend more job training!? Really!? This is the same idea that Democrats have been flogging (as a cover to push for more globalization) since Bill Clinton. Literally no one believes that this is the remedy for what is ailing society — except the bougiecrats.
I’ll cut to the chase. These institutions — the funders: the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Omidyar Nework, Ford Foundation, the Open Society Foundations, and the academics: Harvard Kennedy School, Howard University (that accepted blood money to participate in the latest version of the Tuskegee experiment), Johns Hopkins, MIT, and the Santa Fe Institute (founded by physicists who did nuclear weapons research at Los Alamos) are all so deeply ensconced in the technocrat mindset and the technocrat information bubble that they are completely incapable of understanding the problem and have no idea what the alternatives might be.
This project is asking the foxes to redesign the hen house in the name of reducing inequality amongst chickens.
What we desperately need is a revolution to smash the technocracy into dust. The bougiecrats fear this more than anything else (which is why Trudeau is using storm troopers to crush the truckers on behalf of his bosses at the World Economic Forum). If one cares about the fact that the world is on the wrong track, the remedy is to set 8 billion people free, let them use their voice, get out of their way, and let them create from their own intuitive sense of wonder and purpose. The remedy for the problems the world is facing right now is to allow 8 billion people to experience their own personal sense of agency. And what these technocrats will propose instead is to micromanage the global population through behavioral economics and bio-fascism.
I’ll even go one step further. You want a trillion dollars a year in global economic stimulus? Abandon the vaccine program worldwide immediately and permanently. Pharma is inflicting a trillion dollars a year in iatrogenic injury worldwide via vaccine programs. Pharma gets paid hundreds of billions of dollars for toxic vaccines and 5x to 10x more for patented treatments for the chronic conditions caused by vaccines. It’s the most corrupt business model since the Middle Passage. As governments around the world run out of money in the coming years and cannot print more without triggering hyperinflation (as is already happening in the U.S.), abandoning the vaccine program will be the ONLY way of injecting economic stimulus into the economy.
Some people are not able to hear this yet. But as our economic and political systems collapse over the coming years under the weight of Pharma fascism, what I’ve just described will eventually become common sense.

If you want new economic ideas, talk with ordinary citizen. Talk with poor people. Listen to the dispossessed and disenfranchised. They have heaps of great ideas if anyone would bother to listen. Robert Kennedy, when he was running for President in 1968, went and sat on the front porch with poor people who lived in Appalachia and listened to their concerns. No politician (nor academic for that matter) has had the courage to do that since. The deep state murders leaders who listen to the people. But that's what we need -- to listen to the experiences of the dispossessed and to permanently dismantle the deep state.

Could not agree more. Humans governed by “experts” or “technocrats” is a recipe for failure. Everywhere and always.
